Got busy and finished three this week, so the pressure is on for next week! Very different works. I am usually stuck when I am asked what style I paint in– I think if an artist has just one, she might consider branching out. So here are three.
“Etch” 24 x 36″, acrylic, alcohol and water on canvas
“Rise” 30 x 30, oil on canvas
“No fate but what we make” 18 x 24″ oil on canvas
She really does. My goal was to paint a simple scene and this girl is messing with my chi! I will keep on working this one…as I have time and patience.
Recently sold: Horse Dream–many, many thanks, Grazie mille!! to this awesome collector!!!
Working on a few possibilities in oil using only Black, White, and Gamblin Torrit Grey. I am carving the horses out of the darkness. Those lumps on the beach may turn into dogs… or maybe a lobster, I haven’t decided.
Aim small, miss small. This painting is 5 x 7″, so as important what to leave out as to leave in. I am reading Carol Marine’s awesome book about daily painting, so maybe time to switch to a daily blog- yikes! This one went to a West Coast Collector this week – thanks!
I draw them, I paint them, I think about them. This is from a dream I had about them- Horse Dream, 20 x 24″ Oil on Canvas.
More wild horses on the beach- so amazing to see them out there. Acrylic on canvas, 18 x 24″
Painting horses is a challenge, as unlike a human model posing for you, you cannot ask a horse to raise a hoof, twist a little, etc. Learning to ride has given me a better feel for drawing them. This painting is called “Spirit Guides”.
